Today is the birthday of the novelist and essayist Virginia Woolf, (books by this author) born Virginia Stephen in London (1882). She never went to school, but her father chose books for her to read from his own library. Her brothers all went to the best universities, and she wrote letters to them about her reading.
That is sort of like how I write my brothers letters about my reading. Well, mostly I only sometimes write them emails about random occurences. Today I tried to call Boo to ask him something but he didn’t answer his phone. That just goes to show that you should never trust anyone, especially boys named Boo. Because in Swahili, Boo means silly boy who never listens to his sister.
But really, I think today I should honour the Woolfster by my stream-of-consciousness writing in the modernist style. Or I could just honour her by saying, man, she was pretty awesome. And by saying that if you want to read her work, here it is online! http://etext.library.adelaide.edu.au/w/woolf/virginia/.
