not matlock

Daily Trivia
The makers of Trivial Pursuit were sued by a trivia book author who claimed they had plagiarized from him when they listed the first name of fictional character Columbo as “Philip.” Trivial Pursuit countered that they had taken material from his book and others, calling it research. They won. The Columbo character’s first name is actually Frank.

That is trivia trivia. I don’t know what Columbo is. I think some old people maybe watch that. Is it like Matlock? On the Simpsons the old folks wanted to name a highway after Matlock.
Matlock reminds me of Masterlock. I had a combination Masterlock for the gym but I forgot the combination so I spent about two hours systematically trying to hack my own lock (http://skattertech.com/master-lock-hack/) but I couldn’t do it. Neither could my dunnies.
They started selling ice cream bars in the cafeteria but I have yet to take advantage of that opportunity. Maybe when I get Magic Straight this weekend I will go to Pinkberry.

ice cream hero

Daily Trivia:
In late 2005, Gary Coleman opened an ice cream shop in Cheyenne, Wyoming called Short Stuff’s Frozen Treats.

Does that mean that I can open an ice cream shop called Tall Tart’s Frozen Treats? Because I really do like ice cream. A lot. In fact, I believe this is the second post in which I have mentioned how much I like ice cream. Once I went to McDonald’s with John in the morning because he wanted some breakfast from there, but I got an ice cream. We returned and someone told me that a) it was a little early for ice cream and b) i looked so happy eating it. The second statement is probably true, but the first clearly was not. Especially with regard to ice cream from McDonald’s. Actually the ice cream cones at McDonalds are not really ice cream, they are lowfat something, but they are so great. In college I used to eat one every day. Sean and I once saw some guy buy two ice cream cones at once. Then he sat on the couch to eat them both, alternating between each hand. I believe Sean remarked that he was double-fisting the ice cream. When he finished these cones, the Ice Cream King returned to buy two more, and proceeded again to the couch. This man still resides in my memory as the greatest man who ever lived.

my dad licked my face

Daily Trivia
The biggest fear of chefs who cook for world leaders is food poisoning.

I think that was also one of my dad’s biggest fears for us kids when we were growing up. every time we got something to eat at a restaurant, he would say “that looks good, I better taste it just to make sure it is ok.” I think he was very afraid that it was poisoned. Actually I think he just wanted to eat some of our food. Also, he used to always lick around the bottom of the scoop of ice cream on our cones because he wanted to make sure that the ice cream didn’t drip on our fingers. My friends often remark that I am a messy ice cream eater (which they see a lot because I really like ice cream). I am unable to eat ice cream on a cone without it dripping all over my fingers because I was never taught to do it independently. This is how parents scar your psyche. I don’t really know why he was so upset about ice cream dripping on our fingers. Maybe this was also a ploy to eat ice cream. Also, he always licked our fingers and then our faces after we ate. Because he isn’t especially concerned with his own personal hygiene, I think he also did this because he liked eating the sticky mess off of our faces. Or maybe he was too lazy to get a wipe. It could also be because he grew up in Africa where they have very little water, so they have to use their saliva to clean their children.
