intellectuals are overrated

Daily Trivia
After earning a degree in biology from Vassar College, Lisa Kudrow became an actress at the urging of Jon Lovitz. Jon Lovitz, a family friend of Lisa Kudrow, urged her to enter acting while she was with the comedy group The Groundlings.

Oh me oh my! This is funny because not only is Sean a cousin of Jon Lovitz, but also, I am often compared to Lisa Kudrow’s character in Friends. Also one of my favourite movies is Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion which has Lisa Kudrow in it. Also she is a member of Mensa which I think is pretty telling. It takes a high degree of intelligence to play the off-beat ditsy characters that she specialises in. I know because in high school people thought I was a little ditsy and were very surprised to hear my SAT scores. This is because I got good scores. Another example of this phenomenon in pop culture is Jessica Simpson, who, despite her on-screen persona, actually has an IQ that qualifies her as a genius. You may argue with this fact, but I ask you this one question: does your name rhyme with trivia? I didn’t think so. Q.E.D.

Here is a picture of George Lucas made out of Legos.

Douche bags can succeed in life

Daily Trivia:
The word archipelago refers not only to a big group of islands, but also to the broad expanse of water that contains them.

Your mom is a broad expanse of water. Archipelago was on my SATs and I totally got the question right. It was in the analogies section, which, alas, is no longer a part of the SAT. High school kids these days are such wimps. They are always complaining about how hard the SAT is and how unfair it is to have standardised testing. It is like, get over it, if you don’t do well on the SAT, you probably just aren’t smart and shouldn’t succeed in life anyways. But, no worries, life, unfortunately, is not a meritocracy, and even douche bags can succeed.

i made myself feel better

Daily Trivia
J.R.R. Tolkien was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

That is also where my grandfather Lib was born. His real name is Liber, which is like liberation, so my dad calls him liberation.
Hopefully we will get to see him soon. Dad is trying to get us all to go to South Africa in December, but I am not really sure if I can take the time off work, or if I can take the time out of applying to law school.
I guess I should have my LSAT scores by then, and I am hoping that I will have the rest of my applications done by then also, but knowing myself I am not sure. I sort of have the tendency to think I should just spend every minute I can at home to make sure that I do my law school applications.
Although last night I was at home all night and didn’t really do anything except knit. But I knitted a very difficult row in my shawl because it is the row where all of the cables twist, so you have to constantly slip stitches on and off the cable and regular needles. I think it is my last row of that type, because I am almost finished with the cable portion of the shawl. I have to admit, though, that I messed up a few rows back, and am seriously too lazy to go back and fix it. My mom would be thoroughly disappointed. I think it is more important for me to finish it than to have it perfect. I feel like if I went back to correct it, I would lose all motivation to finish the project, and then I would feel like a terrible person who never finishes anything.
Isn’t it nice how easily my thoughts progress from fixing a small mistake in my knitting to hating myself for everything I have ever done?
